AN ACROSTIC WEEKEND
Footy is always a very fun sport,
On weekends you always have to be a good sport.
On Sunday, I like to call it a fun day!
Tackling is very dangerous,
Your footy teams have all been to the finals once!

There was once a man from Geelong,
Who wore out his size-10 thong.
His feet were bare,
But he didn’t care,
He walked all the way to Hong Kong.

There once was a poor ballerina
Whose blue tutu was often much cleaner
But she munched on a biscuit
A blunder to risk it
A Tim-Tam, a small misdemeanour.
A clown with a cauliflower ear
Decided that he would appear
In a colander hat
With a cute climbing cat.
But the cat said
‘Not likely my dear.’
There once was a postie called Progge
Who had a most wonderful dog
It could carry more letters
Than fifteen red setters
And he never got lost in the fog!
Sioban says: I wrote this in primary school after we learnt about limericks – and for some reason I have always remembered it!
Limerick
The glorious lady Godiva,
Of fame we would never deprive her,
A nude horseback dash
Might seem crude, even brash,
But my gran has done worse for a fiver.
